શ્રીકૃષ્ણ એવા અનેક વિશિષ્ઠ લક્ષણો ધરાવતા હતા જેનાથી તેઓ સામાન્ય માણસ કરતાં જુદા તરી આવતા અને એટલે જ તેઓ ભગવાનના અવતાર ગણાય છે. તેઓ મહાભારત યુગના યુગપુરુષ ગણાતા. એમના સંપર્કમાં આવતા દરેકની - મનુષ્ય કે કોઈ પણ જીવની તેઓ કાળજી લેતા.

કુરુક્ષેત્રના પ્રખ્યાત યુદ્ધમાં એમણે એક યોદ્ધા તરીકે ભાગ નહોતો લીધો. તેઓ અર્જુનના સારથી બન્યા હતા. દરરોજ ભીષણ યુદ્ધની સમાપ્તિ બાદ તેઓ ઘોડાઓની સાર સંભાળ લેતા. તેઓ સ્વયં એમના ઘા સાફ કરતા, એમને સ્નાન કરાવતા અને ખવડાવતા. તેઓ બીજા કોઈને પણ આ કાર્ય કરવા હુકમ કરી શક્યા હોત પરંતુ તેઓ સ્વયં પ્રાણીઓની કાળજી લેતા.

એક દિવસ એક ટીટોડીએ કુરુક્ષેત્રના રણમેદાન નજીક એનો માળો બનાવ્યો. માનવીઓ વચ્ચે ચાલતા આ ભીષણ યુદ્ધથી આ બિચારું નિર્દોષ પક્ષી તો સાવ જ અજાણ હતું. સૂર્યોદય બાદ તે દિવસના યુદ્ધનો આરંભ થતાં જ શ્રીકૃષ્ણએ આ જોયું. એમણે ટીટોડીના માળાનું રક્ષણ કરવા એક મોટો ઘંટ એના ઉપર મૂકી દીધો.

નિર્દોષ પક્ષી એનાં બચ્ચાંની ચિંતા કરતું કલ્પાંત કરતું હતું. પરંતુ તેઓ તો શ્રીકૃષ્ણએ મુકેલા ઘંટ નીચે સલામત હતા. યુદ્ધ સમાપ્ત થતાં શ્રીકૃષ્ણએ ઘંટ ઉપાડી લીધો અને ટીટોડીને એનો માળો સલામત મળી ગયો.

આવા ભીષણ યુદ્ધ મધ્યે પણ ભગવાન જો આટલા નાના જીવની આટલી બધી કાળજી લેતા હોય તો આપણે તો નિશ્ચિંત રહેવું જ જોઈએ કે એ ભગવાન આપણી કાળજી લેતા જ હોય!

Lord Krishna’s Mercy for Creatures

Lord Krishna had many special characteristics different from an ordinary person so he is considered as an incarnation of God!

He was considered as the best human being of the Mahabharat era. He used to take care of everybody who came in his contact. This was same for humans and also for any creature.

In the famous Kurukshetra war, he was not directly involved as a warrior. He had become Charioteer for Arjun. Every day after the terrible battle, he used to look after the horses. He was personally cleaning their wounds, giving them bath and feeding them. He could have ordered anyone to do this work but he himself was taking care of the animals.

One day a female lapwing bird had built her nest near the battlefield of kurukshetra. The innocent bird was totally unaware of the fierce battle between men. When the battle started for the day after the sunrise, Krishna noticed this. He quickly put a big elethant bell over the nest to protect it.

The innocent bird kept weeping for her dear ones. But they were safe under the bell put by Krishna. At the end of the war, Krishna took away the bell and the lapwing found her nest safe.

If the Lord takes so much care of such little creatures even during a war, then we must be assured that he definitely takes care of us!
